Characteristic Mode Analysis of Cylindrical Metasurface Cloak

A metasurface (MTS) cloak is proposed for reducing the forward scattering of a conductive cylinder upon plane-wave incidence. With the proposed MTS cloak, the forward scattering E-field is reduced by about 18.6 dB. Preliminarily results of characteristic mode analysis (CMA) of the cylindrical scatterer with and without the cloak are presented for understanding the cloaking effects from a mode perspective.
