A Deception Jamming Approach Based on Four-Dimensional Antenna Arrays

A novel deception jamming method based on the scattering mechanism of four-dimensional (4-D) antenna arrays is proposed in this paper. The scattered echo signal can be dynamically regulated by the periodic modulation of switches, thus a part of scattered power at the center frequency signal is shifted to other sideband components. Then, the pulse compression output expression of the enemy radar is deduced. By the proper design of the time modulation frequency, time sequences and static phases, multiple false targets will be generated. Simulation results of a 16-element 4-D linear array with microstrip patch elements are carried out to verify the proposed method.
