Anisotropic Metasurface Antenna Using Electromagnetic Dipoles

An anisotropic metasurface antenna composed of electromagnetic dipoles element is proposed. The dual-polarization characteristic of the element is achieved when the magnetic current and electric current flow in the same direction. The element containing an H-shaped patch and two T-shaped patches forms the dipole and slot structures, which supports the propagating of the electric current and effective magnetic currents. A metasurface antenna consisting of 16×16 elements is designed. The simulation results show that desireud radiation performances can be achieved in both polarizations.
