Solving Time-Harmonic Three-Dimensional Magnetic Field Problems with Edge Element Method

Edge elements are finite elements whose degrees of freedom are associated with edges rather than nodes. Edeg elements method allows the tangential component of the vector to be continuous but the normal component of the vector to be discontinuous from one element to the next. In this paper, the edge elements method is introduced comprehensively. Based on the vector basis function, the Galerkin principle is adopted to deduce the A*-A discrete equations of time-harmonic 3-D eddy current problems. Taking a transformer as an example, a three-dimensional model is established to calculate the magnetic field of the transformer by this method.
