Influence Analysis of Wind Power Grid Connection on Low Frequency Oscillation Based on Inverse Characteristic Locus Method

A power system low-frequency oscillation analysis and control design method based on the inverse characteristic locus method is proposed. A more accurate stability margin is obtained by inverting the similarity matrix of the loop transfer function matrix of the system. The new method is used to identify the impact on stability from changes in wind turbine generator (WTG) dynamics and system operating conditions when the WTG is integrated into the system and gradually increasing the power output. The analysis results reveal that except for the case where WTG is first integrated into the system, the change of system operating conditions has a greater impact than the change of the WTG dynamics.
