Power Cable Vibration Detection and Signal Feature Parameter Extraction Based on Optical Fiber Mach-Zehnder Interference

Power cables are widely used in power systems. In order to detect vibration signals of power cables, this paper studies a fiber optic vibration sensing system based on Mach-Zehnder interference (MZI). A 110kV built-in optical fiber power cable was produced, and the internal sensing optical fiber was used to measure the vibration of the cable. The MZI vibration sensor is used to detect the three events of hammering brick, hammering cable, and kicking cable, and compares the signal of the internal optical fiber and the external optical fiber. The vibration signal measured by the internal optical fiber is decomposed by complete ensemble empirical mode decomposition with adaptive noise (CEEMDAN), the characteristic parameters are extracted, and the signal is reconstructed. The experimental results show that the optical fiber vibration sensing system based on Mach-Zehnder interference can be used for power cable vibration detection, which is of great significance to the safe operation of power cables.
