Designing and Modelling of Switched Reluctance Motor with its Characteristics Analysis

An electrical machine is a tool used to support manual labor. Due to their complex maintenance requirements and compensating requirements, conventional DC motors have lost some of their relevance. Approximately 70% of the equipment used in modern production processes uses induction motors (IM). Due to IMs' many benefits, traditional DC motors have been replaced. They still have some limitations, though, like low beginning torque and strong inrush currents. They operate with poor power factor, which increases 12R losses and lowers system effectiveness. Specialized equipment is used in today's environment to satisfy a variety of application needs. The Switched Reluctance Motor (SRM), one of these specialist machines, is finding broad use in a variety of industries thanks principally to its remarkable performance when connected to power systems. Using sophisticated software tools like Ansys RMxprt and Maxwell, the proposed project comprises the design of an 8/6 SRM, including the calculation of its geometric properties, design validation, and simulation. Waveform and attribute analyses are used to extensively analyze the machine's performance. A thorough study report is then created to evaluate the SRM's viability for a variety of prospective applications.
