Quasi-Log-Periodic Phased Array Cross-Polarization Reduction

This paper presents the experimental study results of a previously developed broadband quasi-log-periodic microstrip dipole antenna considered a prominent unified subarray antenna element. The designed antenna array element provides over 40% operational bandwidth and a beam steering sector 45°. Moreover, a cross-polarization reduction technique was applied to reduce the cross-polarisation level in the phased array’s entire beam steering range by 20 dB.
