Augmented Reality Applications Attitude Scale Among Engineering Students: Validation in Indian Context and Analyzing Determining Factor

As the world continuously moves towards technological development, learners are encouraged to adopt new innovations that quench their needs accordingly. Attitude towards Augmented Reality (AR) by learners play a crucial role in its integration into educational process. The study aimed at validating the adapted version of “Augmented Reality Applications Attitude Scale (ARAAS)“ by M.D. Diaz-Noguera, P. Toledo-Morales, C. Hervás-Gómez among engineering students in Indian context. The 23-items scale is measured in a Likert scale format and originally aimed in determining the attitude of teachers towards AR application in education. Here, the investigators slightly modified and validated it among 256 engineering students who are destined for technological adaptation, but attitude towards it is understudied. The Bartlett's test of sphericity, the Kaiser-Meyer-Olkin (KMO) test and CFA was analyzed. The reliability quotient of the finalized scale with 14-items is favorable for future utilization. The influence of gender as an influencing factor is also analyzed.
