Abstract:

Compared to hydraulic systems, or electrically assisted hydraulic systems, the electric system greatly reduces the driver's feedback from the road, minimizing his ability to react. The objective of this paper is to design and build two automatic steering functions. After that, it will be developed a simulation environment to observe how they behave, and we'll use the findings to demonstrate how an electric power steering system may be used to accomplish all of these goals. After implementing both functionalities, the repeatability of the execution of the functions was tested, activating them randomly, deactivating them in the middle of the execution, or checking the exit conditions.

I. Introduction

The electrically assisted steering system has gained ground in recent years in relation to the hydraulically assisted system due to high reliability and the possibility of developing functionalities which are more and more necessary.
