Design and Performance Analysis of Gold-Coated Photonic Crystal Fiber Plasmonic Biosensor

We introduce a simple photonic crystal fiber (PCF) surface plasmon resonance biosensor. The finite element method characterizes sensory qualities. Practical sensing uses chemically stable gold on the PCF's outside. The modelled biosensor's sensitivity to wavelength, amplitude, and sensor resolution is examined to measure the analytes' refractive index (RI). Using wavelength and amplitude interrogation techniques, high sensor resolutions of 1.25×10

, respectively. The hexagonal lattice structure of the proposed biosensor simplifies manufacturing. The suggested biosensor is appropriate for biochemical and biological detection due to its low cost, high sensitivity, and simple assembly.
