Performance Optimization of Nearshore Ship Cellular Communication Systems Assisted by D2D

As a technology assisting mobile communication in specific areas, device-to-device (D2D) communication has been widely researched and applied in recent years. This paper delves into the communication system of nearshore vessels, utilizing D2D to aid the communication between ships and coastal base stations. Considering the unique marine environment effects on signal transmission, such as sea surface reflection, the existing terrestrial communication channel models are not suitable for maritime communication. Therefore, we introduce a modified two-path communication channel model for maritime communication. Ensuring communication demands and setting quality of service (QoS) as a prerequisite, the best matching algorithm is used to design a matching preference matrix for cellular users and D2D users to allocate channel resources. Simulation results demonstrate that this approach can enhance the throughput of the entire nearshore ship communication system.
