Modified Peak and Valley Current Mode Control of Single Phase Full Bridge Voltage Source Inverter Using Flux Cancellation Method

A digital peak and valley current mode control for a single phase full bridge voltage source inverter, is presented in this paper. The closed-loop flux cancellation technique used in current regulation maintains zero flux across the linear hall effect sensor by properly controlling the inverter switches. The proposed current control method limits the inductor current's immediate peak or valley in accordance with the reference provided based on its half-cycle information, comparator output, and the nature of the inductor current's slope on a cycle-by-cycle basis. It doesn't need any additional compensation circuitry to remain free from subharmonic oscillations, which is an inherent drawback of traditional peak and valley current mode control. The proposed control technique guarantees nearly constant switching frequency, superior Total Harmonic Distortion (THD) figures, a clearly defined harmonic spectrum, and a quick dynamic response.
