Research and Application of Multivariate Predictive Control Technology in Gas Fractionation Unit

An advanced process control (APC) based on multivariate predictive control is designed to address the multivariate characteristics in the depropanizer tower of gas fractionation unit. The advanced control strategy of depropanizer tower is introduced. The implementation process of advanced control scheme in the gas fractionation unit is described in detail, including OPC communication configuration, step test of model, DCS control configuration and control effect. The control effect of the gas fractionation unit is significantly improved via applying the proposed advanced control method. It shows that the proposed advanced control is effective, which can strongly offer reference for the advanced process control systems of other industrial process.
