Temperature Regulation for a Single Zone with Air Handling Units

The problem of temperature regulation is investigated for a single zone with AHUs. The nonlinear dynamic model of the system is studied and equivalently converted into a simplified style for controller design convenience. Then, the controller is designed via backstepping technique, and stability analysis is provided for the closed-loop system. Finally, in order to show the effectiveness of the proposed controller, simulation experiments are made considering different seasons. All the simulation results demonstrate that the zone temperature can successfully reach the desired one by using the proposed controller. Moreover, the control performance is better compared to the PID controller.
