Reconfigurable Computer Architecture for Signal Processing Applications

For many applications, reconfigurable computing is becoming more appealing. Architectures, design approaches, and applications are all covered in this study of reconfigurable computing. The Altera Stratix II and Virtex 4 FPGA processors mentioned in this article are examples of recent advances in reconfigurable architectures. There are two types of design methodologies: general purpose and specific purpose. Data encryption, video processing, network security, and image production are just a few examples of the applications driving reconfigurable technology. This report examines the progress made in academic research and commercial development in reconfigurable computing for DSP systems over the last fifteen years. ASICs, PDSPs, and other DSP implementation media are all examined in this study in order to comprehensively detail the range of design options available to system engineers. Many DSP applications, including video, audio, speech, and control, are still years away from utilising reconfigurable computing to its full potential. demonstrates how the FFT algorithm can be pipelined over a two-level reconfigurable array of arrays in a variety of ways, depending on the application requirements. The performance of this processor when combined with a reconfigurable system with a GPP (General Propose Processor) and commercial DSPs is compared in various circumstances. The Architecture purposed reduces power and speeds up the execution of programmes, according to experimental results.
