Design of an Efficient Mac Unit for DSP Applications

Multipliers are the crucial elements of VLSI and strategies for processing digital signals. In arithmetic operations, the speed of execution of multiplication functions is critical and has an enormous effect on the extent to which a design performs. This raises an urge for accurate variables which boost the speed, power, and area. Mathematical researchers have gained access to an array of tactics to multiplying numbers, including Recurrent addition, prehistoric Egyptian strategy, Vedic method, Booth method, etc. The three Multipliers are scrutinized using three aspects: delay, area, and power. The MAC unit is a vital ingredient of computer hardware, especially in digital signal processing. Multiplication and accumulation duties are taken care of by the MAC unit. Adder, multiplier, and accumulator constitute the foundational MAC unit. The precise multiplier is used to generate the optimum MAC unit. The proposed MAC unit is synthesized and stimulated in Xilinx 14.5.
