Automatic Image Captioning for Medical Diagnosis Report Generation

The process of image captioning is dealing with the situation of localization of different objects from images. Further these objects are identified and the extracted information of these objects can be used according to the type of images which are under consideration. Either the images can be satellite images, normal images or complex medical images. Medical images contains some crucial clinical information regarding the observation captured under these images. To extract this kind of information, expert opinion is required. The automatic detection of the hidden clinical facts and information contained in these biomedical images can be possible by identifying the objects in these images by using the techniques of image captioning. In this paper the present state of art of automatic image captioning field is discussed along with the information about the essence of image captioning in the field of biomedical images. Various parameters like BLEU, Meteor, ROUGE-L have been discussed to measure the quality of addressed work.
