Design of An Automatic Package Receiving System

Online shopping is one application of technology that makes the buying and selling process easier. One of the shortcomings of the online shopping system is when the recipient of the goods is not at home when the courier delivers the goods ordered. A tool is needed to read the package or goods that arrive to simplify and speed up the process of receiving goods between the courier and the recipient. A barcode scanner is required so that the reading of the item’s identity is the same as what has been ordered so that it is not confused with another thing. In this research, an automatic control system was designed to read packages or goods ordered, receive them, and notify the owner that the goods ordered have arrived. This system utilizes a GM66 barcode scanner and an application-based Raspberry $P i$ to monitor the condition of goods or packages remotely via an Android smartphone. Based on the tests, this control system can respond well to barcodes on packages and send data from the Raspberry Pi to the user quickly.
