Beam Steering Property of Perfect Anomalous Metareflectors Using Stretchable Elastic Substrates for 6G Applications

Beam steering property of perfect anomalous metareflectors using stretchable elastic substrates are studied. An anomalous metareflector with a reflection beam angle of 60 deg for a normal incident wave is designed at 140 GHz on a stretchable substrate Panasonic SRBC119 with the thickness of $100 \mu \mathrm{m}$. It is numerically shown that the reflection efficiency excluding material losses approaches to 99.7 % with the parasitic reflection suppression less than −28.6 dB. Dynamic control of anomalous reflection beam is demonstrated experimentally. The beam steering angle of 17 deg from 57 deg to 40 deg with the overall efficiency over 50% is achieved for the stretch ratio from 100 % to 130 % in the 140 GHz band.
