The Method of Using Interferometry FMCW Radar for Air-Writing Digit Trajectory Tracking

This work proposed an air-writing digit trajectory detection method based on interferometry frequency modulated continuous wave radar (FMCW), which can effectively capture and reconstruct the trajectories of air-writing digits. By combining interferometry measurement with phase range measurement, a method is formed that can use the interferometric principle to track tiny movements of air targets. Furthermore, this work utilized the difference in the number of peaks in the angular feature curve for each digit. Redundant line segments are removed in the trajectories of digits "4" and "5". Compared to existing methods, this approach can reduce the number of radars used and the computational load and can achieve true 3D airwriting.
