Optimal Placement and Sizing of Single DG to Minimize Energy Loss and Optimizing Voltage Profile Based on Optimized Techniques

Distributed energy represents an economical and reliable source of electricity for consumers. They are attached immediately to distribution unit at points of contact with consumers. The enforcements of distributed energy sources provide numerous refinements to distribution system performance like improving the energy efficiency, voltage profile, contribute to reduce grid failures and improve reliability of the grid. In this article, three techniques were suggested to achieve optimal size & position of distributed power generators and fixed capacitors into radial systems. These methods are Moth-Flame (MFO), Multi-Verse (MVO), and Whale optimization (WOA) algorithms. The main target of each of these methods is to optimize its size and placement of the distributed resources in distribution units with a purpose ameliorate grid performance by reducing energy loss, enhance the stability of voltages and to compare among the above-mentioned algorithms on the basis of true power losses, voltage profile amelioration and convergence characteristics.
