Performance Analysis of Photovoltaic Cells Using Partial Shading Conditions

With the largest population in the world currently and with photovoltaic systems producing 15.1% of the total electricity in India, one of the growing concerns is the increasing usage of solar power. Photovoltaic (PV) systems frequently experience partial shade, when certain solar panels experience decreased irradiance levels as a result of shadowing brought on by surrounding objects like tall buildings, birds, trees, or clouds. The performance of a PV system can be greatly impacted by partial shadowing, which can result in a decreased energy yield, mismatch losses, and possible hotspots. This paper covers everything from how a PV module works to the analysis and simulation of partial shading on PV modules and strings. We have also prepared a SIMULINK model for all the analysis parts and presented it in this paper.
