Study on ultrasonic detection of phased array for socket angle weld

Insert corner weld is a common form of weld in pressure equipment. Because to its poor welding conditions and complex force, it is easy to produce buried defects such as pores and no fusion. With the continuous operation of the equipment, it is easy to damage, and there are great hidden dangers for the normal and safe operation of the equipment. Conventional nondestructive testing methods (magnetic powder detection, ultrasonic detection) have certain limitations and cannot achieve effective detection. In view of this problem, the ultrasonic phased array is method, and carry out the ray detection method, but ray detection is influenced by the angle of penetration, and there is a certain amount of error in the quantification of defect length. The experimental results show that the ultrasonic phased array detection method can effectively identify the defects in the insert angle weld.
