Optimization of A Self-integrating PCB Rogowski Coil for Discharge Plasma Current Detection

In this study, a self-integrating Rogowski current sensor based on a printed circuit board (PCB) was proposed for the characteristics of high change rate and relatively small amplitude of discharge plasma current driven by nanosecond pulses. According to the requirements of measurements and the sensor size, the geometric parameters and winding parameters of the current sensor are determined. The equivalent circuit model of the PCB Rogowski coil is established in the simulation software PSpice to verify the theoretical feasibility of detecting nanosecond pulse discharge current and determine the sampling resistance value. Experiments show that the designed PCB current sensor is in good agreement with the dielectric barrier discharge current measured by the commercial Pearson current probe and the coefficient of determination R

can reach 0.91. The designed current sensor has a sensitivity of 21.96mV/A.
