New Frequency-voltage Control Strategy for Converter Stations

It is very important to realize inertial support between the power grid and the wind farm system. In this research, a control strategy for the strategy is proposed. By introducing the frequency-DC voltage droop characteristics into the constant frequency control of the wind farm side converter station (WFVSC) and the constant DC voltage power control of the grid side converter station (GSVSC), there is a coupled relationship between the AC power grid system frequency. The purpose of mutual support during a system fault can be achieved without the converter station communicating, easing the burden of frequency modulation on the converter station's fault end system. Finally, the grid-connected DC transmission model of the wind farm is built in PSCAD/EMTDC, and simulations confirm the suggested additional control strategy.
