A Millimeter-Wave 3D Substrate Integrated Dual-Polarized Magneto-Electric Dipole Antenna

A three-dimensional (3D) substrate integrated dual-polarized magneto-electric (ME) dipole antenna is presented. ME-dipole antenna integrated into the lateral region of multilayered printed circuit board (PCB) substrates covering the fifth-generation (5G) millimeter-wave applications in 24, 26 and 28 GHz bands with wider than 30% dual-polarized impedance bandwidth is designed. The mutual coupling of the dual polarizations in the bandwidth is basically less than − 25 dB. The antenna with satisfying end-fire radiation performance, including symmetrical radiation patterns and stable gain across the operating band is realized. The antenna is fabricated successfully by multilayered printed circuit board technology.
