Spatial profiles evaluations of negative nitrogen corona discharge performances

Plasma is a state of material in addition to solid, liquid and gaseous states. It is possible to benefit from the energy of the substance according to its chemical state, but the state of plasma has been very popular in various fields such as renewable energy, medicine and space science. Plasma exists naturally in the universe and can be prepared in a laboratory using heat or electricity. The study of plasma can be divided into three aspects, the first of which is theoretical, which explains the various physicochemical phenomena mathematically with equations, hypotheses, and guesses, and the second is the experimental technical aspect, which is the most difficult in practice due to its cost and sensitivity. As for the third aspect, which we will rely on in this paper, it is simulation. We chose the corona discharge technique to model the effective chemical reactions in the field of nitrogen plasma production under atmospheric pressure, extra high temperature, and sufficient applied voltage. Electron density, positive ion density, and negative ion density were measured spatially. The electron temperature, The electric potential and the reduced electric field curves are plotted. The results showed that it is difficult to predict the densities of the three elements due to the many intervening and influencing factors.
