Low-Cost Relative Humidity Measurement Based on Wet Bulb Thermometers

The wet bulb temperature, representing the lowest temperature achievable through evaporative cooling, is a crucial measurement for assessing moisture levels in the air. It is influenced by air temperature, humidity, air pressure, wind speed, altitude, and solar radiation. By accurately measuring the wet bulb temperature, we can gain insights into the humidity level and potential health risks associated with different environmental conditions. This paper presents a wet bulb thermometer setup that enables the measurement and display of relative humidity and temperature. Employing Arduino technology and sensors offers a practical and accessible solution for monitoring environmental conditions. The accuracy and limitations of the method are discussed, emphasizing its usefulness in diverse fields and highlighting the importance of understanding relative humidity and temperature for various applications.
