Comparative Analysis of RF Performance Investigating Novel OCSRR Embedded Triangle Antenna versus Triangle Slot Antenna for L Band Applications

This exploration delves into the radio frequency (RF) performance of a Novel Open Complementary Split Ring Resonator (OCSRR) embedded in a triangle antenna, compared with a triangle slot antenna, tailored for L-band applications at 1.8 GHz on a $50 \Omega$ characteristic impedance. Metrics like return loss, gain, and VSWR were evaluated, with 34 measurements collected. The Novel OCSRR Embedded triangle antenna demonstrated superior performance, boasting a return loss of 24.1400, gain of 2.42, and VSWR of 1.0799. In contrast, the triangular slot antenna exhibited -17.5379 return loss, 1.208 gain, and 1.3062 VSWR. Both antennas shared 85mm by 80mm dimensions. Statistical analysis emphasized the significance of results ($\mathrm{p}\lt 0.05)$. This investigation establishes the OCSRR Embedded triangle antenna as a superior choice for enhanced RF performance over the triangle slot antenna, offering valuable insights for L-band applications. The findings contribute to advancing antenna design for improved communication and signal processing in relevant frequency bands.
