Steganography and its Feasible Approaches for Computer Network Security

Threats and vulnerabilities are multiplying at an exponential rate as a result of the emergence of new technologies. The adversaries are continuously developing new strategies to overcome the system's network security and preserve their privacy. Steganography is an advanced encryption method employed to maintain the privacy of the network and information transmitted. Despite much research, there is still a need to find a way to avoid employing conventional security procedures for trustworthy, effective, and robust communication via insecure networks. This research aims to investigate various steganography techniques and discuss the most recent approaches of steganography for protecting the reliability of networks as well as data in transit across networks. Further, the study comprehended that LBS has been prominently implemented as a technical steganographic method due to adaptability, and hybrid network steganographic techniques foresee development in protocol modification aspects. The method was observed to be reliable in transmitting the most effective, sensitive data such as user passwords, PIN numbers, and other similar information over the internet. Steganography is not intended to replace cryptography; rather, it is intended to augment it.
