F-CFDT: A Hybrid Cluster Formation and Data Transmission Protocol in WSN using Fuzzy Logic

Efficient Routing Methods for Wireless Sensor Networks (WSN) majorly focuses on power conservation. Clustering is employed to prolong the operational lifespan of WSNs. A single node, acting as the cluster head (CH), serves as the representative for other nodes during communication. The paper proposed a novel hybrid routing technique based on fuzzy logic for cluster formation and data transmission to the Base Station (BS). The approach of creating clusters based on the energy levels of nodes results in the formation of optimal clusters. The simulation results shown the effectiveness of the proposed protocol in network performance. The proposed protocol enhances the network's longevity, stability, and average energy consumption.
