Design of a Base Station Antenna for a 4G Network

In this article, a precise digital design methodology of circular shaped patch antenna printed on a dielectric substrate is made using Matlab software. The antenna designed will be used in the field of telecommunications for 4G mobile telephone networks. In this paper, we were able to meet the following specifications: a working band of [1.3 and 1.7 GHz], an input impedance of 50 Ω. Through the Smith diagram layout, from the distribution of the current on the patch and of the radiation diagram in 2D and in 3D the desired characteristics have been validated during the design of the antenna. Lastly, we were able to ensure the coverage of the 4G network band in a base station through the proposed antenna which can cover this wide band of the network.
