K-Means Clustering of the Mental Health of Engineering Students at the Universitas Islam Lamongan

Student mental health has been extensively researched using qualitative, quantitative and machine learning-based methods. Mental health indicates a person’s psychology, emotional, and social. A person’s mental health needs to be maintained so as not to cause heart disease or dangerous diseases. How to reduce stress or depression by analyzing a person’s mental health group and what factors affect mental health. Based on this, we cluster the mental health of engineering students at the Universitas Islam Lamongan and look for factors that influence student mental health. The goal is to avoid depression or stress that results in other diseases. The clustering method used is k-means. We collect data by distributing questionnaires as well as psychological tests. The data analysis results show that the number of study hours each week greatly influences students’ mental health. The number of good clusters is two out of 857 data lines, namely depressed and normal. Students in the depression group have an average of 40 hours/week of study hours each week.
