A Survey on Synthesis and Analysis of EMG Signal

EMG Electromyography signals are biomedical signals that measures the electrical current generate during muscular contraction-relaxation represents neuromuscular activities and EMG signals are used for biomedical or clinical applications. The EMG signals also have its application in modern human-computer interaction and Evolvable Hardware (EWH) chip development. EMG signals are detected, decomposed processed and classified after acquired from the muscles, for the purpose of study or to investigate. The efficient and effective analysis and classification of the EMG signal is the main objective of the paper. This paper also includes understanding the EMG signals, its nature and to develop various algorithms and methodologies to study the EMG signal. It also includes hardware implementation by acquiring muscles potential during contraction-relaxation and to develop prosthetic hand control, human computer interface and grasp recognition. The comparative study is also made on acquiring EMG signals with various methods, analysis, decomposition, processing and classification is made. This paper gives information about understanding EMG signals and to develop powerful, cost effective, flexible, and weightless with effective application.
