Frequency Reconfigurable Antenna Design for Tissue Independent Medical Applications at 2.4 GHz ISM Band

This paper propose a frequency reconfigurable antenna design using split-ring resonators (SRRs) that can operate in the ISM (2.4 GHz) band for biotelemetry applications. To maintain the frequency response within different tissues, a conductive switch is employed between the split ring elements. . In this paper, the S11 characteristics, radiation patterns and surface current distributions of the antenna obtained using CST Microwave Studio are presented in detail.
