A New Single-Phase Isolated Improved Quasi Z-Source AC–AC Converter

A new single-phase isolated improved quasi-ZS ac–ac Converter has been introduced in this article. The proposed converter is an impedance-source converter and includes their advantages. Also, it has wide range of output voltage as buck and boost in both inverting and noninverting states as well as continuous sinusoidal input current and high reliability. The converter is a high frequency transformer isolated structure in which there is no need to bulky and loss-full low frequency transformer specially in applications which require electrical isolation. The control method is very simple and only one switch works in high frequency in every half-cycle in which the switching loss is reduced. In addition, the inherent safe commutation exists and there is no need for snubber circuits or safe commutation methods. Finally, the experimental results have been brought in to verify the claims and analysis.
