Partial Network Recovery for Large-Scale Failures in Smart Grid

Natural disaster or malicious attacks will cause a large-scale failure of communication network and interrupt communication services in smart grid. This paper addresses the problem of network recovery by selecting partial damaged links to be repaired so as to maximize the number of survival services. We formulate the problem as 0–1 programming model, which is NP-hard, and then propose a potential energy-based heuristic algorithm to solve the problem. Extensive experiments are carried out under the condition of the different topology, the different number of services and resources. The experiment results illustrate that the heuristic algorithm is time-efficient and is near-optimal.
