Design and Analysis of SMC and PI Controllers Applied in DC Servo Motor

This paper presents the design of a Sliding Mode Control (SMC) approach and a PI control method for position control of a low-power and low-voltage permanent magnet DC motor intended for servomotor applications. A sistema tic description of the design of the SMC algorithm is presented. To achieve this goal, the mathematical model of the permanent magnet DC motor is described and then introduce control algorithms for both controllers. The stability analysis is perfomed based on the Lyapunov analysis. The paper will conclude with the presentation of simulation results, offering a quantitative basis for comparing the performance of these control strategies.
