Design and Simulation of Rate Adaptive Algorithm Based on WAPI Protocol

Multiple physical layer (PHY) modes have been provided by the protocol of WAPI to meet different data transmission requirements, and the PHY mode is adapted dynamically by rate adaptive algorithms based on the channel quality to achieve optimization of delay and throughput in WAPI wireless network. To address the issue of existing rate adaptive algorithms failing to accurately evaluate the impact of rate adjustment on the performance of WAPI wireless network, the calculation models for transmission delay and competition delay are established in this paper, and a rate adaptive algorithm based on dynamic programming is proposed. Each node exchanges information on the wireless channel quality with neighboring nodes, and the rate of the link transmitter is adapted based on the wireless channel quality through dynamic programming. The experimental results show that adaptive algorithm based on dynamic programming has lower network delay and higher network throughput compared to previous algorithms.
