A Comparative Study of PLLs for Power System Under Various Disturbances

This article presents a comparative study of four different types of phase-locked loops (PLLs) commonly used in power system applications: SRF-PLL, DSOGI-PLL, GDSC-PLL, and SVFT-PLL. This study evaluates their performance in the presence of different types of disturbances, such as phase jumps, frequency variations and harmonic contamination. Since this article contemplates frequency variations, the frequency adaptive versions of the above cited PLLs are also included in the study. The results demonstrate the effectiveness of each PLL in different scenarios, providing valuable information for selecting the appropriate PLL for specific applications in power systems.
