A Novel Multi-Agent Algorithm for Sparse Optical Phased Array

Optical phased arrays are used to regulate the propagation direction of the output beam by controlling the phase of each channel beam. For integrated optical phased arrays, the grating array’s grating flap and side flap are two important characteristics that limit the large field of view and high beam quality. Usually, the unequal spacing array can suppress the interference at the grating flap and reduce the power of the grating flap, but the non-uniform distribution of the array to get a better effect of the large amount of arithmetic and long time. To solve the problem, we use the vernier array as the initial inhomogeneous array, then we propose a multi-agent algorithm to suppress the side mode suppression ratio (SMSR) and energy efficiency in the OPA far-field diffraction pattern.
