Measurement and Analysis of Active Frequency Support Capability of Large Capacity Wind Storage Joint System

Configuring energy storage systems in wind farms to form a wind storage joint system can effectively improve the active support ability of new energy stations to the power grid. While meeting the primary frequency regulation needs of the power grid, it can also improve the utilization rate of wind power and increase the economic benefits of wind farms. In response to the issue of system frequency stability in the high proportion of new energy connected to the power grid, a frequency active support performance verification of a 600MW wind power+115MW/345MWh wind storage combined power plant was carried out, achieving the engineering application of frequency active support in the wind storage combined system. Based on a semi direct drive wind turbine and electrochemical energy storage joint system, three control strategies for wind turbine priority, energy storage priority, and adjustable margin based wind storage joint participation in power grid frequency regulation were proposed. The dynamic characteristics of these three control strategies in frequency regulation were analyzed, and the support capacity of the wind storage joint system for power system frequency stability was calculated, The results indicate that the proposed strategy not only enhances the frequency regulation capability of the wind storage joint system, but also achieves a reasonable allocation of wind storage frequency regulation power.
