Abnormal Behavior Detection to Avoid Attacks in Cloud based on Association Rules

In this research study a new technique to detect Distributed denial-of-Services(DDoS) in cloud is presented by means of association rules. The real time data is captured using Wireshark and abnormality is sniffed by framing rules which less burdens of training and testing of the classifier. Existing solutions mostly worked on static data and detected using training and testing. Hence the methodology, this research study does gives a better result. Owing to some hostility or business competition, certain cloud servers are intentionally attacked for affecting the normal work nature of the cloud server. The cloud computing environment creates numerous replicas for achieving better availability. Hence, once the attack is carried out on the cloud server, it is quite difficult to restore the cloud server to its original state. Hence, it is always preferable to safeguard the cloud by preventing the security attacks. Though there are so many attacks, DDoS attack is carried out on the go, by generating massive uncontrollable traffic to the cloud server. The normal cloud server could not manage the massive traffic and the server is brought to a standstill.However, the cloud server cannot be in standstill state for a long period of time and should be restored to original state. This process is highly complex as it requires great effort and cost. All these adverse happenings can be avoided, when an efficient abnormality detection scheme is incorporated in the system. Usually, the abnormality can be sniffed by analysing the traffic data. Although there are many ways to handle security assaults in the body of current literature, attacks on cloud computing are less concentrated. realizing how important cloud security measures are being implemented.
