Improved Channel Estimation Algorithm Based on Light Communication System

In this paper, we propose the concept of threshold for channel estimation in optical communication systems., and the system threshold is determined by LS, MMSE, LS-DFT, MMSE-DFT and DCS-SOMP channel estimation algorithms. The MMSE-DFT channel estimation algorithm is combined with the DCS-SOMP channel estimation algorithm to improve the termination condition of the algorithm iteration, and the threshold is used as the decision condition of the algorithm. The simulation results show that the MSE of the improved algorithm is reduced by 3.52dB and 5.13dB respectively compared with the MMSE and LS channel estimation algorithms when it is less than the threshold (SNR=15dB); the MSE of the improved algorithm is 7.51dB and 8.99dB lower than that of the MMSE-DFT algorithm and LS-DFT algorithm respectively when the SNR is greater than the threshold (SNR=20dB). The mean square error improvement of the proposed scheme has been significantly improved.
