Vehicle Trajectory Tracking for Intelligent Transportation System Using Distributed Acoustic Sensing

This paper proposes a vehicle trajectory tracking algorithm based on distributed acoustic sensing(DAS). The DAS system can detect and locate along the optical fiber, but because the traditional DAS data processing method is only suitable for counting the traffic flow, it does not have a good effect on obtaining the vehicle's driving track. To track the vehicle trajectory in real time, this paper first uses the double threshold endpoint detection algorithm to process the vehicle vibration signal collected by DAS and then uses the Kalman filter algorithm to optimize the estimation of the result to obtain the vehicle trajectory. The experimental results show that the above method can not only track the vehicle trajectory, but also have a good effect on the estimation of the vehicle speed.
