Sub-6 GHz Propagation Channel Characteristics in an Urban Macrocell Environment

Recent developments in wireless communication technology have led to a diversification of usage scenarios. As a result, there is a growing demand for channel models for the design, development, and evaluation of new wireless communication systems. Our objective is to build a channel model that takes into account site-specific characteristics and behavior in order to accurately reproduce channel characteristics in specific usage scenarios. This paper presents a propagation channel measurement campaign in an urban environment using an in-house sub-6 GHz band channel sounders at 2.4 GHz and 4.8 GHz and the resulting large-scale channel characteristics.
