A Method and Implementation of Impulse Pulse Echo Signal Detection

The impulse pulse signal has the characteristics of narrow pulse width in the time domain and wide bandwidth in the frequency domain. During the real-time acquisition process of impulse signals, high-speed sampling generates a large amount of sample data. The system needs to filter the front-end data to extract the effective signals submerged in the data stream and save transmission bandwidth. This paper proposes a time-domain autocorrelation pulse received signal detection method, and conducts simulation and hardware implementation. A real-time acquisition and detection platform for impulse signals was built based on FPGA and high-speed A/D. The real-time sampling rate reached 2.5 Gsps, and the envelope signal-to-noise ratio of signal detection reached -10 dB.
