Multi-Channel Hybrid Time Domains and Clustering Protocols for Large-Scale Interconnections

Multi-channel hybrid time domains and clustering protocols are introduced. These concepts are shown to be well-suited for the modeling and description of interconnections of hybrid dynamical systems. Compared to a hybrid time domain, a multi-channel hybrid time domain incorporates multiple jump counters, one for each subsystem in an interconnection. The interconnection's clustering protocol then determines how the different counters are coordinated. A distributed, hybrid average consensus algorithm is used to illustrate these concepts.
