Utilizing Blood Flow Computational Findings as Reference for Intravenous Fluid Delivery Robot Operations: A Feasibility Study

The primary objective of this study was to utilize the regular parameters of human cardiac pulsations as a reference for the operation of an intravenous fluid system robot. To achieve this goal, a 3D model of the sigmoid sinus in a pulsatile ear-ringing patient was constructed, and relevant boundary conditions were input. Using the computational capabilities of COMSOL software, we calculated the blood flow of the patient with each heartbeat as a parameter for controlling the IV drip robot. Since various parts of the human body exhibit a certain degree of correlation in their blood flow characteristics, the results obtained, including the highest and lowest blood pressure, mean blood pressure, and flow rates, can be used as input parameters for the IV drip robot. The control response rate of the IV drip robot was sufficient to manage these input parameters and produce corresponding reactions.
